Autograph manuscript, with 6 carbon typed pages, sold to John Hinsdale Thompson of Grosse Point, Michigan by the author. The title page bears her inscription to Thompson. The novel, originally title Amabel, was first published by Duckworth of London in 1931. No information is available which would date this manuscript, so the date of 1931 is used. Richardson worked on the novel from 1927 to 1931.
